Sydney, Australia, Feb 5, 2004 – palmOne Australia Pty Limited and MYOB Australia are offering affordable mobile accounting for SMEs, simplifying the collection of sales and billing information for companies with staff on the road.
During February and March, customers purchasing a handheld from palmOne's Tungsten™ range (other than the Tungsten E) will be eligible for a bonus MYOB PocketAccounts and MYOB BusinessBasics package worth $498 . The offer will be available from leading retail outlets throughout Australia, including Harris Technologies, Mega Mart, Myer, Grace Bros and Office Works.
MYOB PocketAccounts runs exclusively on handhelds from palmOne, allowing users to collect information while they supply goods or services direct to customers in the field.
PocketAccounts captures information such as customer billing name, delivery address, item descriptions and payment details and records time spent on individual tasks. Once the user is back in the office, information can be easily linked via synchronisation between PocketAccounts and the BusinessBasics software on their Windows PC. This synchronisation eliminates double data entry, and improves the accuracy and timing of invoicing. No need to take notes, no need to fill in forms and no need to type in any information.
BusinessBasics simplifies the way SMEs quote, track and invoice jobs, simultaneously tracking transactions and GST, and provides users with more than 70 reports to help SMEs understand their business.
SMEs can also download their online business bank and credit card statements and import them straight into MYOB BusinessBasics, which can automatically reconcile transactions.
"The way that we do business continues to change, and an increasingly mobile work force demands that mobile accounting provide the means to both maintain control when we're away from the office and respond rapidly to opportunities wherever we are. It's a competitive world for the SME and, for many, mobile accounting is the edge they need," said Andrew Fiori-Dea, MYOB Australia general manager.
"By working with MYOB, palmOne enables affordable mobile accounting, radically reducing the cost of mobile business solutions for SMEs," commented Lesley McKnight, marketing manager, Australia, New Zealand and India, for palmOne Australia Pty Ltd.
