palmOne's Treo 650 Available to Vodafone Australia and New Zealand Customers

SYDNEY, Australia, June 28, 2005 -- palmOne Australia Pty Limited (Nasdaq: PLMO) today announced that customers in Australia and New Zealand are able to utilise its award-winning Treo ™ 650 smartphone on the leading mobile networks of Vodafone Australia and Vodafone New Zealand.

The Treo 650, which was released in Asia Pacific in February, is now on the Vodafone Approved Standard Mobile Devices list and can be purchased from select Vodafone business channels and resellers. Customers can activate the Treo 650 on a variety of Vodafone Australia voice and data plans, including the AUD$49.95 GPRS Unlimited Data Bundle. Vodafone Australia's mobile network is available to more than 92 per cent of the Australian population.

New Zealand customers can purchase the Treo 650 through Vodafone New Zealand's retail stores and business channels on a selection of voice and data plans (pricing plans can be viewed at http://www.vodafone.co.nz/pricing_plans/mobile_data.jsp). As a nation of travellers, New Zealanders on Vodafone's GSM network can roam to more than 30 countries overseas.

"The smartphone market holds a significant opportunity for future growth for palmOne, whose technology is at the forefront of innovation in mobile computing," said Paul Blinkhorn, vice president for Asia Pacific for palmOne. "We welcome the opportunity to work with leading network providers such as Vodafone Australia and Vodafone New Zealand in making the Treo 650 available to customers. Smartphone technology like this is changing the way business professionals go about their working lives, making them more connected and productive than ever before."

The Treo 650 combines a full-featured quad-band mobile phone with a wide range of productivity applications, including email, organiser and web access. Users also can view, edit and create Word and Excel compatible documents or access PowerPoint presentations on the go. In addition, Bluetooth® wireless technology allows the Treo 650 to connect wirelessly to other compatible Bluetooth devices, such as printers and headsets. Multimedia capabilities include a built-in MP3 player and a digital camera that can capture still images and video that can be viewed on the vibrant colour screen.

In addition to PO3 and IMAP email support, the Treo 650 features built-in support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. This enables customers to wirelessly synchronise their email and calendar with the corporate Exchange 2003 server at the office, without the need for any middleware or additional server.
