Text messaging grows up.
-
Send a text on the fly2
One button opens the Messaging application. Then just a few touches on the 5-way navigator selects a recipient from a list of recent addresses. Or, simply type the first initial and last name of your friend or colleague, and the address automatically fills itself in. Can texting get any easier? It can. There's an easy-type keyboard right at your fingertips to write your message, so you don't have to waste time with number-based phone keys. -
Include photos, videos, and audio.
Shoot a picture or video3 with the built-in camera/camcorder, and then attach it to your message. Add a voice memo that you recorded right on the smartphone-or attach a ringtone or sound clip. With an intuitive, easy to use interface, adding media is a snap. -
Chat away.
When you exchange more than one message with a single person, the messages are neatly grouped into a chat session. You can carry on multiple chats at the same time and easily switch between them, using the pick list at the top of the screen. -
Show some emoticon.
Don't just say it. Show it. Insert a smiley face or a frown, (hey, we're just being honest) using the emoticons symbol. And to save time, select QuickText to insert predefined phrases such as "call me," or "on my way." You can even create your own. -
Respond to text with a call. And vice versa.2
After receiving a message alert, you can tap the Call Back button to dial the person who sent it. Or, you can reply with a text message, even when you're on the phone. You can also respond with a discreet "can't talk now" text message when you're too busy to answer a call. -
Save the stuff that's sent to you.
Use it, too. Save sound clips, pictures, video clips, and other multimedia attachments that you receive on your Palm® Treo™ 680 smartphone. Then sync them with your desktop computer or share them with friends. -
Customize your messaging settings.
You choose how you want your messages to appear. You can receive new alerts with the body text showing, for example. Or select Privacy Mode to hide the text.
Messages appear in a chat-style view.
Include photos, video3, or audio with your text.
Smile. Wink. Frown. Or scream.
