Palm™ Australia appoints Express Online to extend small and medium business channel

Sept. 2, 2003 -- Palm, Inc. (Nasdaq: PALM) today announced a distribution agreement with Express Online, increasing its visibility in Australia's small and medium business market.

The non-exclusive agreement complements Palm's existing distributor relationships with Tech Pacific and Brightpoint, providing a pure online channel to service the many thousands of independent resellers across Australia.

"Express Online provides a fast, efficient distribution option for Palm™ products in Australia," said Paul Orrock, director of Sales, Palm Australia and New Zealand.

Express Online resellers can now order from the full Palm Australia catalogue, including the Tungsten™ range of robust business-class handhelds for mobile professionals and the easy-to-use and affordable Zire™ range for consumers and multimedia enthusiasts.

In a July Express Online survey of 4,500 resellers, 90 percent of respondents said they planned to purchase PDA devices in next 12 months, with 55 percent planning to sell Palm products. (1)

"The PDA market is a key growth area for our resellers," said David Gage, general manager, Express Online. "Palm is the No. 1 brand in the market, and there is a real opportunity for the smaller resellers to grow the market."
