Palm™ eStore, the company's first in Asia Pacific, opens its doors in Singapore.

Online store offers "one-stop" shopping with a comprehensive range of Palm Handhelds and Accessories.

SINGAPORE, Aug. 5, 2003 – Palm, Inc. (Nasdaq: PALM) today announced the opening of the Palm eStore targeted at customers in Singapore. This is the first of a series of eStores planned for the key markets in the Asia Pacific region. The new Palm Singapore eStore promises customers a convenient online shopping platform to purchase a comprehensive range of Palm™ handhelds and accessories. Upcoming store highlights also will include the ability to trade-in old handhelds online. The Palm eStore is located at apacstore.palmone.com

The Palm eStore features the Palm "Handheld Finder", a Lifestyle Profiler with six simple questions that will help customers find the appropriate Palm handheld and accessories to match their lifestyle needs.

" Just as we recognise different user needs with our two sub-brands, Tungsten™ and Zire™, the introduction of the Palm eStore brings multichannel experiences to address different customer purchase behaviours. Customers who prefer the retail experience have a wide selection of Palm resellers at IT outlets, electronic stores and major retail chains in Singapore. 'Arm-chair shoppers' who want to buy in the comfort of home will now have the option to go shopping at the Palm eStore," said Ed Neiheisel, senior vice president for Palm, Inc. in Asia Pacific.

" The eStore is a core building block in developing the vision of the Palm Economy Portal. Bringing together a community of consumers, businesses, partners and developers, the goal is to provide solution offerings of hardware, software, service and support to meet the needs of different customer segments and offer content that is tailored to their specific needs".

Digilandmall.com, a subsidiary of Main-board listed Digiland International, is Palm's eStore partner. This company was selected based on its regional footprint across Asia Pacific, and its track record in running virtual marketplaces in the region.

At the Palm eStore, customers can expect prompt delivery right to their doorsteps at any location in Singapore. Payments can be made online via credit cards, or cash-on-delivery. The Palm eStore will be powered by the WorldPay payment system, which uses a combination of established and innovative techniques to ensure the security and integrity of all sensitive data. To ensure further peace of mind amongst online shoppers in Singapore, any payment communication between shoppers and the Palm eStore is encrypted -- up to 128-bit SSL encryption for all shopper information transacted on the website.

Kicking off the launch of the Palm eStore, registered Palm handheld users in Singapore can expect to receive e-vouchers to get special discounts off Palm handhelds and accessories on the eStore. Customers also will be invited to special online shopping events. To spark off the launch excitement, Palm will be hosting the "Moonlight Madness" event on Aug. 7, from 7 p.m. to 3am the following day, for Palm handheld users to pick up special bundles and offers.
