palmOne Brings Treo 600 Smartphone to Hong Kong Customers

Hong Kong, April 29, 2004 -- palmOne, Inc. (Nasdaq: PLMO), today announced that the Treo™ 600 smartphone, an integrated wireless smartphone with a built-in QWERTY keyboard, has been approved for use on GSM/GPRS networks offered by four carriers in Hong Kong -- CSL, Smartone, Sunday and New World Mobility. The smartphone has an estimated street price of HK$5,980 and can be purchased from CSL, Smartone, Sunday and New World Mobility outlets, as well as chain stores throughout Hong Kong, including Fortress and Broadway, beginning mid May.

The Treo 600 smartphone seamlessly combines a full-featured mobile phone and Palm OS® organiser with wireless applications such as email, text messaging and web browsing into one compact, powerful device.(1) The Treo 600 smartphone's quad-band (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) world phone allows customers to make and receive calls on GSM/GPRS networks worldwide.(2) The Treo 600 smartphone operates on the Palm OS 5.2 operating system, providing everything users need to stay organised, including calendar, contact list, to-do list, and memo pad. The Palm OS also allows customers to take advantage of thousands of existing applications, including games, office document readers, multimedia applications, and valuable utilities for both personal and business needs.

The Treo 600 smartphone offers an easy-to-use POP3 email solution and comes preconfigured with settings for several popular local ISPs, or users can set up the Treo 600 smartphone to access their own POP3 accounts.(3) In addition, the smartphone's integrated VGA camera allows user to take picture images and send it wirelessly using Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS)(3) or as an email attachment.(1)
