Update 1.20 for the Treo 650
Download & Install: Windows
Follow these instructions carefully. They tell you how to back up your data and restore it after the update. Remember, during the update all data on your smartphone is erased. Anything that is not backed up will be deleted permanently. The link to download is below.
Prepare your smartphone
- Connect your smartphone to its charger. It needs to be connected throughout the update.
- If you have an SD expansion card inserted in your smartphone, remove it now.
- Exchange ActiveSync (EAS, or wireless Outlook) users: This updater requires you to delete your EAS account, then re-establish it after the update.
- On your smartphone, launch VersaMail.
- Press Menu
. From the Accounts menu, select Account Setup. - Highlight your EAS (Outlook) account, and select Edit.
- Go through the setup screens and write down your settings. You'll need them later when you set up EAS again.
- Back at the Account Setup screen, highlight your EAS account, and select Delete.
Download and install
- Download: Treo_650_Updater_1_20_LAP.zip (15.1 MB Zip)
- Decompress the file you downloaded. Make a note of the location to which the files were decompressed.
- Click the installer: Treo_650_Updater_1_20_LAP.exe. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
- If the update was successful, your smartphone's Software version number will be Treo650-1.20-LAP (how to check).
- Exchange ActiveSync users: If you deleted your EAS account earlier, set it up again after the update. Review Knowledge Library article 15342 for a refresher on setting up EAS.
