Title II, Part B – Teacher and Principal Training and Recruiting Fund
The purpose of Title II, Part A is to:
- Increase student academic achievement through strategies such as improving teacher and principal quality and increasing the number of highly qualified teachers in the classroom and highly qualified principals and assistant principals
- Provide training on how to understand and use data and assessments to improve classroom practice and student learning
- (Provide) innovative professional development programs... including programs that train teachers and principals to integrate technology into curricula and instruction to improve teaching, learning, and technology literacy
- Development and use...proven, cost-effective strategies for the implementation of professional development activities, such as through the use of technology and distance learning
