All new Palm products since 2006 are RoHS compliant.
Above and beyond what is legislated and regulated, Palm voluntarily removed polyvinyl chloride (PVC) from all packaging and removed PVC and halogenated flame retardants from all new cables starting in Fall 2008.
The Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS) Directive addresses the reduction of use and ultimate elimination of the following substances: Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg), Cadmium (Cd), Hexavalent Chromium (Cr+6), Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB), and Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE) in electrical and electronic products.
