FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LANDWARE PLANS MACINTOSH SUPPORT FOR MICROMONEY
Checkbook application will support Quicken for the Macintosh
May 11, 1998 - LandWare, Inc. today announced it plans to ship a Macintosh
version of its MicroMoney application for Palm Computing® platform by
mid-summer 1998. This update will allow customers to transfer financial
transactions recorded on their PalmPilot connected organizer or IBM WorkPad
PC Companion to their Macintosh during a HotSync® operation.
3COM is pleased to see LandWare expanding its line of solutions to include
Macintosh support," said Mark Bercow, VP Strategic Alliances and Platform
Development for Palm Computing Inc, a 3COM company. "LandWare finance
titles for the Palm Computing platform add great design and functionality
to 3COM and our partners products in another key market."
"As Macintosh customers ourselves we look forward to providing support for
MicroMoney," explained Ken Landau, president of LandWare. "We are
especially excited to make our announcement given Intuit's recent
re-commitment to the Macintosh product family."
MicroMoney transforms the PalmPilot organizer into a mobile money manager
that is flexible, easy to use and fast. One can enter and edit transactions
for up to 16 accounts including checking, savings, credit card and cash
accounts. MicroMoney transactions are uploaded to a desktop computer during
a HotSync operation and then can be imported into Intuit's Quicken, MS
Money or a spreadsheet. MicroMoney has a suggested retail price of $39.95.
