DocuTouch Uses the Palm.Net Service to Offer Free Wireless Document Management Capabilities on Internet-Enabled Palm Handheld Computers
Web clipping application for the Palm OS platform Offers Wireless Access to Documents
SEATTLE, WA - May 24, 2000 - DocuTouch, which provides on-line identity authentication and document collaboration, today announced the release of free software, through which users of the Palm VII handheld computer and the Palm.Net service may now directly access the DocuTouch on-line services.
"The wireless application makes DocuTouch's legally binding document creation process even more accessible for busy business professionals," said Mir Hajmiragha, CEO and founder of DocuTouch. "Our users will now be able to view and assign tasks associated with their documents quickly and conveniently from their Palm handheld."
Categories of downloads available on the Palm.Net web site include financial, news, reference and directories, travel and entertainment, communication, shopping and enterprise. DocuTouch is listed under the communication heading.
DocuTouch's web clipping application received Tucows highest rating of five stars. The application was evaluated on ease of use, response time, customer contact support and ability to install, uninstall and retrieve information from the application. A five-star rating indicates that DocuTouch's web clipping application fully satisfies all of the Tucows criteria.
DocuTouch, is an Application Service Provider (ASP) that enables users to securely create, share and collaborate on files, sign documents with legally binding digital signatures and permanently archive them without ever having to leave their PCs. DocuTouch utilizes Secure Internet Document Exchange (SIDEXTM ) technology, which allows professionals to confidentially and securely share documents over the Internet.
In early April, DocuTouch announced a partnership with UPS under which will electronically send, print and deliver via UPS Next Day Air, documents from DocuTouch's site. The new publishing service, called DocuTouch Secure Print & Deliver, is available now at www.docutouch.com and is priced from $19.95 for the first 100 pages for overnight service.
Web clipping applications deliver specified bits of information from the web to an internet-enabled Palm handheld quickly and simply. Palm handhelds that can use web clipping applications include the Palm VII handheld with the Palm.Net service and the Palm V handheld equipped with an Omnisky modem.
