PalmSource Appoints Chief Administrative Officer Doreen Yochum Brings Executive Experience From AT&T Labs
SANTA CLARA, Calif., March 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- PalmSource, Inc.,
the Palm OS(R) subsidiary of Palm, Inc. (Nasdaq: PALM), today announced that
Doreen S. (Dory) Yochum has been named chief administrative officer. Yochum,
formerly with AT&T, will be responsible for all operational aspects of the
subsidiary and will oversee its transition to full independence as a separate
entity. Yochum will report to David Nagel, PalmSource president and chief
executive officer. "Dory brings a wealth of experience to PalmSource and fills an essential
role on our team," said Nagel. "Her extensive operational experience adds the
depth required by a fast-moving and industry-leading company such as
PalmSource. Dory will provide the operational framework to ensure that we are
able to meet our goals and objectives." Before joining PalmSource, Yochum held a number of positions at AT&T,
including vice president and chief operating officer for AT&T Labs. She
directed the day-to-day operations and led a unique program that identified
potential service concepts and technologies for contribution by the research
community. Prior to AT&T's spinoff of NCR and Lucent Technologies, Yochum held
senior management positions in several of AT&T's units, including general
manager and chief operating officer of a $400 million line of business focused
on component technologies, with multiple manufacturing sites in the United
States and Europe. "Joining PalmSource offers me the unique opportunity to help shape the
next chapter of the already-industry-leading Palm OS platform," said Yochum.
