Red Carpet-ready Treo 600 Smartphone Paired with Stuart Weitzman's $2 million Shoes
Grammy Award-winner Alison Krauss to Carry Swarovski Crystal-Clad Treo 600 Smartphone
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Marrying star fashion with the latest in must-have high tech, palmOne, Inc. (Nasdaq: PLMO) and celebrity shoe designer Stuart Weitzman have produced the first-ever bejeweled smartphone. For this year's Academy Awards, a Treo(TM) 600 smartphone from palmOne will be clad in clear and cognac-colored topaz Swarovski crystals and carried by 17-time Grammy award-winning country singer Alison Krauss. Her Treo 600 smartphone will match Cinderella-inspired shoes from Weitzman, valued at $2 million.

With the Treo 600 smartphone, Krauss will have a world-class phone, a handheld computer, compatibility with Microsoft Word and Excel documents, messaging, email and web-browsing applications -- all in a 6-ounce device with a phonelike look and feel.
"The Treo 600 smartphone's slim and chic technology is exactly the practical fashion that trend-setters look for today," said Stuart Weitzman. "Pairing fantasy shoes with the crystal-swathed smartphone makes a statement about the evening -- balancing ethereal beauty with consummate professionalism."
Weitzman worked with crystal king Swarovski to encrust the Treo 600 smartphone with 3,000 clear and cognac-colored topaz cut-crystal stones. For more than 100 years, Swarovski has been transforming the world of fashion and beauty with its expertise in highly precise crystal-cutting. (www.swarovski.com)
The Debut
During Oscar week, Weitzman will unveil the Treo 600 smartphone and the fantasy shoes at the Stuart Weitzman suite, No. 627, at Le Meridian Hotel in Beverly Hills.
The talented Krauss, who will wear the diamond shoes and carry a matching Treo 600 smartphone for the 76th Academy Awards on Feb. 29, has been nominated for an Oscar for a track she recorded for the 2003 film, Cold Mountain. Krauss collaborated with rock musician Sting for the nominated song, "You Will Be My Ain True Love."
After festivities, Krauss will return the shoes to Weitzman, but will keep the crystal-clad smartphone. Another crystal-adorned Treo 600 smartphone is expected to be featured at Swarovski's famed New York City showroom.
