NORTEL NETWORKS, HANDSPRING, AND SUNDAY SHOWCASE WIRELESS INTERNET PORTAL, SERVICES AT GSM WORLD CONGRESS 2000 FEBRUARY 2-4, 2000

Nortel Networks* [NYSE/TSE: NT], Handspring, and Hong Kong multimedia services company SUNDAY will demonstrate innovative Wireless Internet services during the GSM World Congress 2000 the world's largest GSM conference and trade show at Nortel Networks' booth N°F26 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France.
The demonstration will showcase wireless services that will be commercially launched by SUNDAY in February 2000 and will be demonstrated on Handspring's Visor expandable handheld computer as the wireless Internet device, using a prototype wireless module. Nortel Networks' GSM and IP core network infrastructure equipment will provide the data delivery system. The demonstrations show personalized, device optimized wireless portal services enabling the provision of easy-to-use consumer and recreational services. Each of the three parties have brought unique and complementary skills, expertise, and know how to this collaboration.

Handspring, a leading innovator in the handheld computing industry, recently released the Visor, the first expandable pocket-sized computer. Based on the Palm OSTM, the Visor integrates a powerful expansion platform called Springboard. Springboard is a hardware expansion slot with open design interfaces for adding plug-and-play communications and other expansion capabilities. The Springboard open architecture allows companies like Nortel Networks to develop wireless communications modules and other hardware or software add-ons. Developers can work with Handspring's license and royalty-free Springboard development kit (free download at www.handspring.com) to create new Springboard modules, which could include GSM or even GPRS modems for wireless connectivity.
SUNDAY, a leading consumer brand providing multimedia services in Hong Kong, contributes its leadership in offering unique value added services to its subscribers and its wide-ranging experience as a wireless service provider. In February 2000, SUNDAY will launch its SUNDAY Services Portal, a consumer-oriented website. A new application that can operate on Palm OS devices like the Handspring Visor will be released.
