HANDSPRING AND ROGERS AT&T WIRELESS TO LAUNCH THE TREO COMMUNICATOR IN
CANADA
Companies to market compact, powerful Treo 180 to Canadian customers
next month
TORONTO, ONTARIO and MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIF. (March 20, 2002) Handspring,
Inc. (NASDAQ: HAND) today announced an agreement to launch Handspring's
Treo 180 Communicator across Canada exclusively through Rogers® AT&T
Wireless (TSC: RCM.B; NYCE: RCN), Canada's leading wireless communications
service provider. The Treo 180 represents the first in a new line of communicator
products from Handspring that integrate a wireless phone, wireless messaging,
and a Palm OS organizer into one compact, handheld device.
"Treo represents a new line of innovation for Handspring and we
are pleased to be working with Rogers AT&T Wireless to introduce the
device to the Canadian market," said Greg Woock, vice president of

and text messaging on this powerful, compact device."
The Treo 180 series will be available this April 2002 through Rogers
AT&T Wireless' authorized dealer and retail locations across Canada
including RadioShack, Future Shop, Business Depot and GlenTel or by visiting
the Rogers AT&T Wireless Web site at www.rogers.com. Both Treo 180
and 180g will cost CDN $749.99 with a two-year service plan and $849.99
with a one-year service plan.

About Treo
The steel-blue colored Treo is easily pocketable at 11 x 6.9 x 1.8 cm,
and weighs only 153g. Treo features the Palm OS, an integrated dual-band
GSM radio module developed by Wavecom for voice and data communications
(900/1900 MHz for use in North America, Europe and Asia, 900/1800 MHz
for use exclusively in Europe and Asia), 16 MB of memory, a fast 33 MHz
Motorola Dragonball processor, a rechargeable lithium ion battery, a travel
charger with HotSync cable, and a headset for hands-free phone use. The
battery provides approximately 2.5 hours of talk time and 60 hours of
standby time. Both new products have a 4-bit gray scale display rendering
160 x 160 pixels. Product accessories, including belt clips and car chargers,
will also be made available in Canada.
