(www.airprime.com), a leading provider of CDMA wireless access solutions for the OEM market, today announced that Handspring has selected AirPrime's Helium 1X embedded module platform to power the future CDMA version of Treo, a compact communicator that combines a mobile phone, wireless applications like email, messaging and Internet browsing, and Palm OS organizer into one compact device.

Last month, Handspring announced an agreement to work with Sprint on a new CDMA version of the Handspring Treo communicator that will operate on Sprint's Third Generation Network. The new 3G 1X device will be co-branded by Sprint and Handspring and is expected to launch nationwide mid-2002.
