About Visor Neo
Visor Neo, Handspring’s entry-level, high performance Visor, is now available for $149down from $169. It comes in a choice of three distinctive colors: smoke, red and blue. It has the same Motorola Dragonball VZ processor as the high-end Visors and 8MB of memory. It runs on two AAA alkaline batteries that last about two months with normal usage. Visor Neo is ideal for first time buyers and those looking to upgrade from a 2MB or older handheld computer.
About Visor Edge
Visor Edge is a slim model that offers a crisp monochrome screen, a rechargeable battery and comes in three metallic colors: silver, blue and red. With a small and easily detachable Springboard slot that simply slides onto and off of the back of the product, Visor Edge is compatible with all existing Springboard modules. The Silent Alarm feature offers users a purely visual reminder of appointments, ideal for use in meetings or other occasions when audible alarms are inappropriate. When the Silent Alarm is activated, the light underneath the power button will blink as an alert for the next appointment without disturbing others. Visor Edge comes with 8MB of memory, and its rechargeable lithium ion battery provides approximately three to four weeks of normal use on a single charge. In addition, Visor Edge has a fast top-off time that allows the handheld to be charged within minutes when docked in the charging cradle. The price for the Visor Edge is reduced from $199 to $169.
About Visor Pro
With 16MB of memory, Visor Pro is a fast and powerful handheld computer with incredible storage capacity for business and personal applications, such as large multimedia files, databases, company documents and digital images. Available in silver for a conservative yet stylish look, Visor Pro has a rechargeable lithium ion battery that charges right in the cradle. This charging cradle can also be used to recharge Springboard modules that have their own internal battery while they are inserted into Visor Pro’s Springboard expansion slot. Visor Pro also offers the Silent Alarm feature, originally introduced with Visor Edge. The new price of the Visor Pro is $199down from $229.
All three products have backlit monochrome screens, supporting 4-bit grayscale (16 shades of gray) with sharp, crisp graphics and use the Motorola Dragonball VZ 33MHz processor. They also offer the Fast Lookup feature, so that people can access contact information more quickly and with one hand using the application buttons instead of the stylus. Each handheld includes all the basic features of the Visor line of products, such as enhanced applications, like DateBook Plus and CityTime, USB support, and Mac OS compatibility out of the box. As with all Visor products, Visor Neo, Visor Edge and Visor Pro are one hundred percent Palm OS compatible, allowing users to download thousands of applications and synchronize data from a previous Palm OS handheld with the press of a button. A variety of Visor accessories and peripherals, including cases, HotSync cradles and cables, and extra styli, are available at major retailers and at www.handspring.com.
