HANDSPRING AND PALMGEAR OPEN WEB STORE FOR SPRINGBOARD EXPANSION MODULES AND VISOR ACCESSORIES
Modules and accessories for the Handspring Visor including the eyemodule digital camera, Intelligolf, a physician's desk reference, Star Trek® BookPak and keyboards now available
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIF. (May 22, 2000) - Handspring, Inc., a leading handheld computing innovator, and PalmGear H.Q., the leader in Palm OS software sales and services, announced today they have opened a web store for Springboard modules at PalmGear H.Q., the web's premier destination for handheld computing software. Handspring Visor customers can now easily purchase a variety of Springboard expansion modules and Visor accessories at http://hs.palmgear.com or by linking through the Handspring web store at http://www.handspring.com. Several modules and accessories are available today and many more solutions ranging from content modules to communications solutions will be added in the coming months.
Springboard modules currently available for purchase include the Blocks™ Products eyemodule, the Franklin Electronics PDR 2000 (a physician's desk reference sold as a bundle with Visor or as a stand-alone module), the InnoPak 2V from Innogear, a combination two megabyte Flash memory and a silent, pager-like vibrating alarm module, the Intelligolf module from Karrier Communications, the OmniRemote Universal Remote Control module from Pacific Neo-Tek and the Star Trek BookPak module from Peanut Press. In addition, customers can purchase portable keyboards like the Landware GoType! keyboard or the Targus StowAway keyboard and a variety of styli and cases.
Handspring has worked closely with PalmGear H.Q. since the fall of 1998 when PalmGear H.Q. brought premium Palm OS software sales and services to the Handspring web store. Handspring chose to work with Palm Gear H.Q. as a key web partner to deliver Springboard modules to Visor customers because of the company's proven market experience, reliable sales channel and quality support services catered to the handheld computing customer.
