HANDSPRING TO SHOWCASE VISOR HANDHELD COMPUTERS AT PALMSOURCE 99
Developers to demonstrate Springboard expansion modules, founders to keynote annual event
Handspring, Inc., a leading innovator in the handheld computing industry, will demonstrate its new line of Visor expandable handheld computers and an array of Springboard expansion modules this week at PalmSource 99, October 19-22 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif. Handspring founder Donna Dubinsky will deliver a keynote speech at the opening of the event and founders Jeff Hawkins and Ed Colligan will participate in keynote panels. Company representatives will also lead breakout discussions and lab sessions on developing for the Springboard expansion platform throughout the show. Handspring is a Platinum sponsor of this annual event.
Several development partners will join Handspring to showcase their Springboard expansion modules, small plug-and-play hardware products that increase the functionality of the Visor through its open-ended Springboard expansion slot. Companies demonstrating Springboard modules include Innogear, Landware, Imagiworks, Peanutpress.com, MarcoSoft, and Datastick. Handspring will demonstrate its own 8MB Flash module and Backup module as well as the EA Sports Tiger Woods PGA® Tour Golf game module. The variety of expansion modules exhibited include electronic books and references, sensor probes for science and education, digital audio and MP3 players, global positioning systems, keyboards and games. Demonstrations will take place at designated exhibit times at Demo Stations 8 through 13.
