  • Send a text message.2
    Press the Messaging button to open the Messaging application and type a brief message using the built-in keyboard. Use the 5-way navigator to select messaging recipients from a list of recent addresses. Or just type the first initial and last name of your contact and it will automatically fill the address.

  • Add photos, videos, and audio.
    Shoot a picture or video3 with the built-in camera/camcorder and attach it to your message. Add a voice memo you recorded on the smartphone—or attach a ringtone or other sound clip. The intuitive interface can make it easy to attach media.

  • Chat.
    When you exchange more than one message with a single contact, the messages are grouped into a chat session. You can carry on multiple chats at the same time and easily switch between them, using the pick list at the top of the screen.

  • Show some emotion.
    To add a special touch to your message, insert smiley faces using the emoticons symbol. To save time, select QuickText to insert predefined phrases such as "call me," or "on my way."

  • Respond to messages and calls immediately.2
    After receiving a message alert, you can tap the Call Back button to call the person who sent it. Or, you can reply with a text message, even when you're on the phone.
