This software is for use with all Palm® handheld users with PCs running Windows 98/95/NT 4.0.

• 8MB RAM minimum (16MB recommended)
• 20MB available hard disk space
• One available serial port
• Mouse

Note: It is recommended that all users of Palm Desktop v3.1 for Windows download and install the Updater for HotSync® v3.1.1 for Windows.

Installing Palm Desktop v3.1 for Windows 98/95/NT 4.0

1. Download either the *.zip file or the *.exe file below.
   • English: PalmDesktop_31_ENG.zip (5.76MB ZIP) or PalmDesktop_31_ENG.exe (5.84MB EXE)
   • German: PalmDesktop_31_DEU.zip (6.57MB ZIP) or PalmDesktop_31_DEU.exe (6.66MB EXE)
   • French: PalmDesktop_31_FRA.zip (6.61MB ZIP) or PalmDesktop_31_FRA.exe (6.70MB EXE)
   • Spanish: PalmDesktop_31_ESP.zip (6.79MB ZIP) or PalmDesktop_31_ESP.exe (6.88MB EXE)
   • Italian: PalmDesktop_31_ITA.zip (6.47MB ZIP) or PalmDesktop_31_ITA.exe (6.56MB EXE)
2. If you have downloaded *.zip, extract the software files using a standard unzip utility. If you have downloaded the *.exe file, extract the upgrade files by double-clicking the file's icon.
3. Close and exit any open Windows programs, including the HotSync Manager application, and disable any virus-scanning software.
4. Remove your Palm handheld from its cradle.
5. Double-click on setup.exe and follow the on-screen instructions.
