This software patch is for a phone reset issue that occurs under certain specific and rare conditions. Download this patch only if you are experiencing reset issues with your phone on a regular basis.

Do you need this update?

  1. On your Treo, press Phone .
  2. Press Menu .
  3. From the Options menu, select Phone Info
  4. Look for the Software Version. If you see

    Treo755p-1.02-CDMA An update is necessary and will take approximately 30-45 minutes.

    Treo755p-1.03-CDMA No update is necessary.


Before you start

  • Install this software on a Treo 755p for Alltel only. The update will not work on any other Treo smartphones.
  • Allow some time for this update, preferably when you won't be interrupted by phone calls or text messages. The updater itself will take approximately 30-45 minutes.
  • Be prepared to back up your data before the update and restore it after.
  • Plug your smartphone into its AC charger and keep it plugged in throughout the update.

  • Keep an eye on your smartphone during the update. Respond to prompts and alerts in a timely manner.

  • Important: Settings for some applications are not retained after update process. You may need to re-enter your user data. If you use Email (VersaMail) remember to re-enter your email account password(s).

1 - If you're installing this update with one of the methods that requires a miniSD expansion card, do not use a microSD expansion card and adapter. Palm has identified that the most reliable method is to use a regular miniSD card. Using a microSD expansion card with an adapter can cause issues with the update.
