Overview: The Security Panel Update is a software patch that replaces the security panel application in your device's RAM and changes its version number. The purpose of this upgrade is to correct an issue with Intrusion Protection when you enter an incorrect password too many times.
|
What is the Security Panel Update 1.0?
This update addresses an issue with the Intrusion Protection feature on your handheld.
What is Intrusion Protection?
When you set up a password for your handheld, you may specify the number of times a wrong password can be entered before triggering Intrusion Protection. When the wrong password is entered too many times, your handheld can be configured to delete nothing, delete all records marked as Private, or permanently delete all data.
Intrusion Protection keeps track of the number of times you enter the wrong password. When you enter the correct password, Intrusion Protection should reset wrong password attempts to zero. Instead, the total number of wrong attempts is incremented.
What issue is addressed by the Security Panel Update?
This update allows your device to reset the wrong password counter to zero each time you enter the correct password.
