Posted: September 7, 2004
The THB Bury Treo 600 Car Kit Application Update is a new version of the drivers and software for this accessory. It updates the Car Kit software version to 3.0. This update resolves echo issues that occur on the Treo 600 side of the conversation when the user speaks into the THB Bury Treo 600 Car Kit. It is for Treo 600 smartphones on the Bell Mobility, Sprint and Verizon networks only.
You may recall that the Treo 600 Car Kit Application is included in the Treo 600 Updater (info). The Car Kit Application Update, below, was released after the Treo 600 Updater, and should be installed separately to fix the echo issue. This new version of the Car Kit Application will work on your smartphone regardless of whether you have installed the Treo 600 Updater.

The update installs an application called "CarKit" in your smartphone's RAM. If you visit the Applications launcher's Info screen, you may notice that you have two versions of the CarKit application: version 2.0 and the newly installed version 3.0. Because version 2.0 is in ROM, you will not be able to delete it. The two versions were designed to coexist on your smartphone. Do not attempt to delete either version.
