Radio Reset application

Posted January 15, 2003
The Radio Reset Application helps your Treo communicator connect to the wireless network if you are having trouble. It is a utility and not a patch, so it should only be used if you're encountering difficulties registering to the network.
If you are having trouble connecting to the wireless network, the Radio Reset Application can help. It is a utility and not a patch, so it should only be used if you're encountering difficulties registering to the network.
If you don't know what GPRS and GSM are, don't worry: all you need to know is that this utility should work on all North American Treo 180, 180g and 270 communicators experiencing the issue below.
How do I know if I need the Radio Reset utility?
This utility helps if you can't connect to the wireless network under special conditions:
- If you turn on Wireless mode ...
- ... and the "flip" dialog does not appear ...
- ... and the top bar in Speed Dial view says "Network search" where it normally would display the network name ...
- ... you may be helped by this utility.
- Click here to get the Radio Reset Application and read detailed instructions for installing and using it.
This utility will not help you if the network status bar says "No service" or "No service - SOS Only."

System Requirements
- Treo 180, 180g or 270 (does not work with Treo 300). Will work on GPRS upgraded devices as well as pre-GPRS devices.
- Do not install on a Treo 300 communicator, VisorPhone or any other device.
- 6 KB free memory on device to hold application (how to check)
- Palm Desktop and HotSync Manager installed on desktop computer for file transfer.
- Symptoms of the "no flip" issue: when you turn on wireless mode, you do not see the "flip" dialog indicating that your Treo is searching for a network. The top bar in Speed Dial view displays only "Network search..." where it normally would display the network name, once a connection is found.
