Serial Software Update for Sprint Treo 650 smartphones

This software update is designed to resolve data stalls experienced by customers using background data applications, such as GoodLink, on Sprint Treo 650 smartphones.
Do not install this software on a Treo 600 smart device, or on a non-Sprint Treo 650 smart device.
Download and Install
This update can be downloaded over-the-air to your smart device, or you can download it to your PC or Mac and sync.
If you're reading this on a PC or Mac (download and sync installation):
- Download the installer to your PC or Mac:
- Double-click the file you downloaded. The Palm Install Tool will appear. If asked, select your Treo 650 smartphone's user name.
- Sync. This moves the file to your smartphone.
- Once you've synchronized, press Applications
.
- Tap on the application named SerialFix. Installation will begin.
- Important: When the update is complete, perform a soft reset: remove the battery cover, take out the battery, and put it back in.
If you're reading this on your Treo 650 (over-the-air installation):
- When you click on the link below, installation will begin. But first, read these instructions and make sure you understand them.
- After you click the link, you'll be asked where to save the file. Select Save To: Applications. Then select Save. When asked if you want to accept "Sprint Serial Patch Installer.prc" into Applications, select Yes.
- Once you've downloaded the software, press Applications

- Tap on the application named SerialFix. Installation will begin.
- Important: When the update is complete, perform a soft reset: remove the battery cover, take out the battery, and put it back in.
How to tell if the update was installed correctly
- Press Applications

- Press Menu
.
- From the App menu, select Info.
- Select the Version button.
- If you see an item named Treo650RTSDeass... the update has been installed correctly.
