The Treo 180 Series Continuous Ring Tone Patch for Treo 180 and Treo 180g smartphones resolves a rare continuous ring problem seen primarily in France and some parts of Asia.
What does the Treo 180 Series Continuous Ring Tone Patch do?
It installs several files on your smartphone to prevent the continuous ring problem from occurring. It also resolves a persistent SMS message issue that can affect customers of the wireless service provider SFR in France.
System Requirements
- Treo 180 or Treo 180g
- Windows or Macintosh desktop computer
- Before you can install the Treo 180 Series Continuous Ring Tone Patch, you must first install the Treo 180 Series Updater 1.0 if you need it.
If you have experienced the following events, you need the Treo 180 Series Continuous Ring Tone Patch:
- You place an outgoing call.
- Before the call is answered, you cancel the call.
- You return to phone view, but you continue to hear a ringing tone until you place another call that is answered, or you turn wireless mode off.
How do you know if you need the Treo 180 Series Updater 1.0?
- Open the Applications launcher.
- Tap on the Prefs icon.
- From the pulldown menu in the upper right corner of the screen, select Ringer.

Installation Instructions
- Perform a HotSync operation. Make sure all your conduits are set to "Synchronize the files". All your data and applications will be erased from Treo during the update, and you can restore them with a HotSync operation.
- Download one of the following:
- If you downloaded the .zip or .sit file, decompress the file using a standard decompression utility.
- Double-click Treo180ContRingPatch.exe (Windows) or Treo180ContRingPatch.sit (Macintosh) file on your desktop computer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions. Don't forget to perform a HotSync operation at the end of the installation process.
