Palm Desktop for Treo 600 (Windows)

Posted October 20, 2003
Do you need Palm Desktop?
We released a new version of Palm Desktop (v. 4.1) for Treo 600, which includes a number of extra goodies and Treo 600-specific features. See what's on the Treo 600 CD.
- Treo Pictures conduit: to transfer pictures between your Treo 600 and your Windows computer.
- Palm OS 5 filter: some applications are not compatible with the Palm OS 5 on your Treo 600. The filter keeps them from being transferred to your device.
- User Guide: (User Guide is automatically installed on the CD version only. Download the user guide here).
- Extra Features: The Palm Desktop installation also includes the 6 extra software goodies preloaded into the installation queue. SplashID, SplashMoney, SplashShopper, Klondike, Zap 2016 and Docs To Go (attachment viewer edition).
Note for PocketMirror Professional
If you are using the special third-party conduit PocketMirror Professional (not PocketMirror Standard, which comes with the Palm Desktop software), read on.
When you install Palm Desktop, you'll be asked about the Personal Information Manager (PIM) with which you want to synchronize. Choose the third option, "I want to use other PIM software ..." This will preserve your PocketMirror Professional software and sub-folder configurations as you install the new Palm Desktop.
Note: This option is also useful for any other third-party conduit set such as Pumatech IntelliSync. The option "I want to use other PIM software ..." installs no conduits from the Treo CD leaving existing synchronization conduits in place, if they already exist.
System Requirements
- Pentium class PC running Windows 98SE/NT4.0/2000/ME or XP (See XP installation notes)
- Treo 600 Smartphone
Can I use a different version of Palm Desktop? No. The Treo 600 version includes custom features that aren't available in other versions.
