The PalmTungstenTUpdate.prc is a software patch for the Palm Tungsten T handheld. It resolves the following issues:

• Digitizer issues affecting the top 5mm of the Tungsten T display not responding correctly or at all. This is typically detected when using pull down menus or applications that utilize this part of the display.
• Audio playback issues, associated with playing audio files (such as MP3 or WAV), which affect sound output quality. Enhancements to the Palm Sound Manager included with this update also enable the playback of audio files in the background with some applications.
• Issues connecting to the Internet or email via a Bluetooth dongle attached to a PC.
• Launcher issues when attempting to access the App menu. The error message "LauncherMain.c, Line:9128, could not complete the operation because the system is out of dynamic memory" is reported on devices with more than 345 files in system memory.

This patch is intended for the Palm Tungsten T and is not meant for use with any other handhelds. This patch incorporates and replaces the following previously released patches for Palm Tungsten T: PalmDigitizerUpdate.prc and PalmAudioUpdate.prc.

1. Download:

   • Brazilian Portuguese: Windows (310KB ZIP File)
2. Extract the file using a standard unzip utility. Note the location of the directory/folder the file is extracted to.
3. Launch Palm Desktop. Select the Install Tool icon.
4. Select the correct user name from the User list.
5. Select the Add button.
6. Locate PalmTungstenTUpdate.prc file in the directory/folder noted in Step 1 above and double-click on it.
7. Select Done.
8. Select OK.
9. During the next HotSync synchronization, the Palm Tungsten T Update will be installed and activated.
10. When prompted to Reset your device, tap the onscreen Reset button.
11. The PalmTungstenTUpdate.prc is not backed up during HotSync. If you hard reset your device, you will need to re-install PalmTungstenTUpdate.prc.

If you are a Macintosh user and have downloaded the PalmTungstenTUpdate.sit file:

1. Download:

2. Your web browser should decode the file and you will see the appropriate .sit file appear on the desktop (or in your default download folder). If your web browser does not decode the file automatically, you will need to use a decoding utility (such as Aladdin Stuffit Expander) in order to decode the .sit file.
3. Find the Instant Palm Desktop icon in the top right corner of your screen. From the Instant Palm Desktop menu, launch the HotSync Manager.
4. From the HotSync menu of the Instant Palm Desktop, select "Install" and pick the correct user name from the User list.
5. Select Add to List. Locate the PalmTungstenTUpdate.prc file and double-click on it.
6. Quit HotSync Manager. The Palm Tungsten T Update file will be installed during your next HotSync operation.
7. When prompted to Reset your device, tap the onscreen Reset button.
8. The PalmTungstenTUpdate.prc is not backed up during HotSync. If you hard reset your device, you will need to re-install PalmTungstenTUpdate.prc.
