Palm Desktop and HotSync Manager keep your information up to date wherever you are. When you sync, any changes you've made to Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Memos are automatically resolved between your PC and your Palm device.
Palm Desktop is the desktop personal information manager. HotSync Manager controls synchronization. Both are included in a single download on this page.
If you sync with Microsoft Outlook, you still should install this software.

All users:
This is not an upgrade if you already have Palm Desktop 4.1.4 with support for extended PIM fields (info). There are no new Palm Desktop features in this version. If your device is not listed below, use the version selector to determine which version to download.
Windows Vista users:
Palm Desktop 4.1.4e will install on Windows Vista and will synchronize Personal Information Manager (PIM) items including Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Memos.
However, there are some known incompatibilities and limitations.
| |
 |
1 - Treo 700p and 680 users: Do not install this version of Palm Desktop if you already installed the sync software from the Treo 700p or 680 CD. The Treo 700p or 680 version is the latest version you need; the version on this page was released before Treo 680 or 700p launched. You may encounter issues if you install the version from this webpage after you install the version from your CD.
2 - This download does not include the LifeDrive Manager application. It is available only on the CD that came with your device.
Installation notes
If you haven't installed the software from your CD, do so now. Additional conduits and applications are included on the CD, such as photo and video conduits, Documents To Go, eReader, or games. If you don't have the CD, you can install the version on this page, but you may be unable to sync some items.
- Photos and videos may not sync if you use this version with a Palm device not listed here. Palm Desktop 4.1.4e is not an upgrade. Installing this version over previous versions may limit your ability to sync photos and videos.
- Using a device not listed above? If you install this version of Palm Desktop and use a device not listed above, you will only be able to sync with the fields on your Palm device, and not the extra fields you see in Palm Desktop. Important: If you install this version and then uninstall, and go back to an older version, your Palm Desktop files will no longer be compatible with the older version. You will need to regenerate them from your Palm device's data.
- This is Palm Desktop and HotSync Manager only: Bonus applications, which may have been on your Palm device's CD, are not included with this download.
- What does the "E" mean in 4.1.4E? The E stands for Extended, meaning that this version of Palm Desktop is intended for devices that use extended PIM applications.
- Is there a version 4.2? Yes, but it is not available for web download. If you currently have version 4.2 on your desktop PC, do not install version 4.1.4e from this page.
