The Importance of Giving Back This Holiday Season, No Matter How Small

The holiday season is always a part of the year when people put aside time to give back. Whether that is in the form of volunteering in their community, donating time and money, or even making sure to be there for friends and family that need it most. We talk a lot about size at Palm, so it should come as no surprise when we say, whatever your form of giving back is, no matter how small, the act of doing something for others is always a big act of kindness. It is more critical than ever this year to give back. With many people losing their job, some even a loved one due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s time for us to stand up and help others.
Over the course of this year, Palm helped to provide connection to those that were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Back in April during the height and beginning of the pandemic, Palm donated Palm smartphones to frontline workers that were risking their lives every day helping everyone in hospitals, clinics, and beyond. We also donated Palm phones to others that reached out to us explaining their need. Some who had lost their jobs and means of income because of COVID and others who just needed an extra device to keep their job afloat.
Palm continued its give-back for the year with a partnership with Teach for America which launched in advance of this school year. We encouraged people to join us in support by purchasing a Palm for a teacher that is part of the Teach for America program in Miami-Dade this school session.
Bundles of Joy
Kicking off this week and just in time for Thanksgiving, Palm teamed up with Stephen Curry and made a pledge to donate up to 300 meals to World Central Kitchen, an organization dedicated to feeding needy families around the Bay Area and beyond. To date, their COVID-19 response has provided over 30 million meals in more than 400 cities. Their work doesn’t just feed those in need, but it is also keeping restaurants working and open during challenging times. Learn more about their work here.

Our holiday campaign this year is themed around “dreaming a little dream.” Palm encourages us all to keep dreaming because sometimes it’s the small ones that mean the most.
Throughout the next few weeks, we will be featuring influential people who had a dream, who regardless of their size, defied the odds, and accepted the challenge given to them to bring their dreams into existence. To coincide with the campaign, on November 13th, we will be kicking off our first “Dream a Little Dream” giveaway. We know that most dreams may start small, but to get them started, they all require a connection. Those connections made can sometimes help make dreams come true and provide greater impact. This year, we want to help you follow your dreams with the power of Palm.
